Purpose of the Job To support the management of DUTs fixed assets at our Midlands Campus’s, including verification, record-keeping, reconciliations, insurance claims, and compliance with asset management policies and IFRS standards, thereby safeguarding the institutions assets and minimizing risks. Minimum Requirements Education (Formal Qualification Required) Diploma (NQF 6) in Financial /Cost Accounting, or other relevant Finance Diploma. Ideal Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce Experience 23 years experience in financial administration or asset management. 45 years experience in asset management in higher education or a large organisation. Knowledge of asset management and financial administration Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Familiarity with financial/accounting systems (ERP or similar) Good numerical and reconciliation skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ideal Knowledge of IFRS and asset accounting standards. Experience in higher education or public sector asset management. Familiarity with insurance claim processes. Understanding of internal controls and audit requirements. Communication and stakeholder support skills. Summary of Duties: Maintain the DUT Fixed Assets Register to account for all additions, disposals and transfers of assets in accordance with the relevant asset management policies and procedures. Plan and schedule the annual physical verification of DUT fixed assets and inform relevant internal stakeholders accordingly Assist in managing insurance documentation for university assets. Ensure compliance with DUTs asset management policies and procedures. Assist in preparing monthly reconciliations of asset accounts. Provide guidance to departments on asset management procedures. Maintain accurate records of asset movements and disposals.
