About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our luxury property in Franschhoek, where you will lead and manage the full kitchen operation to deliver exceptional culinary standards. With a strong fine dining background and proven experience in luxury hospitality environments, you will be responsible for designing and executing innovative menus, maintaining consistent food quality, and managing a team of kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full kitchen operation, ensuring exceptional culinary standards
- Design and execute innovative, seasonal, and high-end menus
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and plating standards
- Oversee stock control, ordering, costing, and kitchen administration
- Manage, train, and mentor kitchen brigade to achieve high performance
- Ensure strict hygiene, safety, and kitchen compliance standards
- Work closely with front-of-house and management teams to deliver seamless guest experiences
- Control food costs while maintaining premium quality standards
- Contribute creatively to the overall guest dining experience and concept development
Requirements
- Strong fine dining background is essential
- Proven experience in luxury hotel or high-end restaurant environments
- Excellent leadership and kitchen management skills
- Strong creativity, attention to detail, and consistency
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of costing, stock control, and kitchen operations
