Job Description

This senior leadership role is responsible for providing legal counsel, corporate governance oversight and company secretariat support to the Board and executive leadership, ensuring compliance with the Pension Funds Act, FSCA requirements and King IV governance standards.
The successful candidate will:
– Serve as a trusted advisor to the Board of Trustees and executive leadership
– Lead the legal and governance function
– Oversee board and committee governance processes
– Manage litigation, regulatory matters and Pension Fund Adjudicator complaints
– Ensure the organisation maintains the highest standards of corporate governance and compliance
Requirements:
– 10+ years’ legal experience, ideally within financial services or retirement funds
– Experience as a Head of Legal, General Counsel, Company Secretary or Governance Executive
– Strong knowledge of pension fund legislation, regulatory frameworks and King IV governance principles
– Proven experience supporting Boards and governance committees
