Plan and Set Up Systems Infrastructure

• Implement validated patches and updates
• Configure web service platforms
• Implement VMs according to business/product requirements
• Define and allocate IP addresses
• Plan and report on VM host capacity
• Diagnose system faults

Maintain High Availability of Systems Infrastructure

• Identify system evolution and improvement requirements
• Identify, test, and recommend new and/or improved systems and usage
• Verify hardware and software compatibility
• Collaborate with Network Administrators on network design
• Test and validate software patches and updates
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance and access issues
• Maintain robust security compliance (OS updates, antivirus, warnings)
• Create, configure, and maintain isolated (ringfenced) virtual environments
• Respond to and resolve system warnings, errors, and failures
• Recover server data from hardware failures
• Recover end-user data from hardware failures
• Maintain physical hardware backup servers
• Rebuild RAID on replacement storage hardware
• Maintain web service platforms
• Provide remote support to the IT support function

Maintain Continuous Professional Development

• Conduct ongoing research on emerging technologies
• Identify, test, and recommend new/improved systems and technologies

Perform General Administrative Duties

• Monitor daily server backup and replication health
• Maintain single sign-on (SSO) security parameters
• Assign and document server and user IP addresses
• Conduct periodic, scheduled systems checks
• Monitor system health indicators
• Maintain validity of existing system licences
• Document web services configurations
• Communicate professionally with vendors and managers

Conduct Extraneous-to-IT Activities

• Perform UPS operational checks per prescribed checklists
• Verify OEM UPS maintenance per SLA

Other Requirements

• Assist Network Administrators with cross-functional tasks
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
• Possible direct contact with electrical connections
• Exposure to sharp/jagged infrastructure edges
• Occasional night driving and night work

Essential Experience (HavetoHave)

• Minimum 4 years in an IT Support role within a highpaced medium/large corporate environment
• Previous or recent System Administrator experience in a similar environment
• Practical experience with server hardware
• Applied experience with Dell and HP software

Desirable Experience (NicetoHave)

• Practical experience in Network Administration
• Experience with Infrastructure, Linux Server, and Microsoft systems
• Handson experience with Windows Server 2019–2016, HyperV, server design and implementation
