About the Role

The Gauteng-based Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) Supervisor will oversee all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring optimal equipment availability to support production targets while maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all TMM maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure optimal equipment availability to support production targets.
  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations, mining legislation, and company procedures.
  • Plan and oversee preventative and breakdown maintenance schedules.
  • Allocate tasks and manage performance of artisans, technicians, and assistants.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality of workmanship and adherence to OEM standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Liaise with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
  • Manage spares, tools, and maintenance resources effectively.
  • Investigate breakdowns, incidents, and equipment failures, implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and maintenance documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with PPE and housekeeping standards.
  • Support training and development of maintenance team members.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Trade Certificate (Fitter / Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic)
  • Foreman Certificate of Competency (advantageous or required depending on operation)
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in TMM maintenance within a mining environment.
  • At least 2–3 years’ experience in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of mining legislation (MHSA) and safety standards.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office and maintenance systems).
