About the Role

The Ekurhuleni: Payroll Wage Clerk will be responsible for processing employee wages, managing payroll records, and ensuring compliance with labour legislation. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in payroll administration and a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly/monthly employee wages and subcontractor payments accurately and timeously
  • Capture and maintain employee attendance, overtime, leave, and payroll deductions
  • Calculate wages, bonuses, UIF, PAYE, and other statutory deductions
  • Prepare and distribute payslips to employees
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information
  • Handle payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently
  • Reconcile payroll figures and assist with payroll reporting for management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, BCEA regulations, and labour legislation
  • Process new employee engagements, terminations, and payroll amendments
  • Liaise with HR and Finance departments regarding payroll and employee matters
  • Assist with general accounting duties, including data capturing and reconciliations

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Minimum 35 years experience in payroll and accounting administration
  • Previous experience within the Metal, Manufacturing, Transport, or Freight Industry advantageous
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems and time & attendance systems
  • Sound understanding of BCEA, UIF, PAYE, and labour legislation
