About the Role
The Ekurhuleni: Payroll Wage Clerk will be responsible for processing employee wages, managing payroll records, and ensuring compliance with labour legislation. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in payroll administration and a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly/monthly employee wages and subcontractor payments accurately and timeously
- Capture and maintain employee attendance, overtime, leave, and payroll deductions
- Calculate wages, bonuses, UIF, PAYE, and other statutory deductions
- Prepare and distribute payslips to employees
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information
- Handle payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Reconcile payroll figures and assist with payroll reporting for management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, BCEA regulations, and labour legislation
- Process new employee engagements, terminations, and payroll amendments
- Liaise with HR and Finance departments regarding payroll and employee matters
- Assist with general accounting duties, including data capturing and reconciliations
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Minimum 35 years experience in payroll and accounting administration
- Previous experience within the Metal, Manufacturing, Transport, or Freight Industry advantageous
- Working knowledge of payroll systems and time & attendance systems
- Sound understanding of BCEA, UIF, PAYE, and labour legislation
