About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Front of House Manager to join our luxury private game reserve in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape. As a key member of our team, you will oversee reception operations, guest logistics, and retail functions, ensuring seamless coordination and exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced bush environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Experience & Front Office
- Oversee all reception operations, including guest check-in and check-out
- Deliver exceptional guest service in line with luxury standards
- Handle guest queries, requests, and concerns professionally
- Maintain a polished and welcoming front-of-house environment
- Safari Shop & Retail
- Manage safari shop operations including sales and merchandising
- Oversee stock control and inventory management
- Enhance the guest retail experience
- Logistics & Coordination
- Coordinate guest movements, transfers, and daily logistics
- Assist in planning safari schedules and guest activities
- Ensure seamless communication between departments
- Operations & Team Support
- Ensure smooth daily operational flow across all FOH functions
- Provide lodge relief support and shift coverage when required
- Liaise closely with lodge teams to maintain service excellence
- Support overall operational efficiency across departments
Requirements
Previous experience in Front of House, Reception, or Hospitality Management. Lodge or safari environment experience advantageous. Strong organisational and logistical coordination skills. Experience in luxury guest relations preferred. Ability to manage multiple operational areas simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Flexible and willing to work shifts and lodge relief duties.
