Qualifications and Skills
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: 

  • Grade 12.
  • Formal culinary Qualification.
  • 3 years practical experience in industry, hotel & corporate catering.
  • Must be an effective cleaner after each shift.
  • Must have the ability to multitask.
  • Literate-must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Adaptability to different working areas and conditions.
  • Must be willing to work shifts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Effective communication with kitchen staff is essential.
  • Must handle constructive criticism positively.
  • Should follow orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Often required to complete multiple tasks in a short time.
  • Check that food is served timeously at the correct temperature.
  • Be hands-on and action all resources and ensure arrangements are in place and the correct stock items are available for the planned menu.
  • Planning cooking methods for the menu.
  • Action & control the food outlet kitchens, that it is open & ready for service on time.
  • Keep serving area clean according to company health & safety standards.
