About the Role
A leading mining and materials handling company is seeking an experienced Tally Clerk to join their team in Hendrina, Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately recording and monitoring the movement of materials, ensuring stock accuracy, and supporting efficient logistics and production operations within a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Record quantities of materials loaded, offloaded, and moved
- Verify truck loads, wagons, and stock against documentation
- Perform physical stock counts and monitor material flow
- Complete tally sheets, load records, and movement logs accurately
- Capture key data such as truck numbers, load times, and tonnages
- Maintain organised and up-to-date records for audit purposes
- Ensure materials match load instructions and report discrepancies
- Communicate with drivers, operators, and production teams
- Assist with stock reconciliations and daily reporting
- Adhere to safety procedures and report hazards or unsafe conditions
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Previous experience as a Tally Clerk, Controller, or similar role
- Exposure to mining, logistics, or warehouse environments advantageous
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, data capturing)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work shifts and in operational environments
- Understanding of health and safety requirements
