About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lodge Manager to oversee all aspects of lodge operations at a Big 5 Game Lodge in Hoedspruit. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for hospitality, capable of delivering exceptional guest experiences while managing daily operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily lodge operations and ensure smooth running of all departments
- Deliver and maintain exceptional guest experiences
- Manage and lead all lodge staff, including training and performance management
- Control budgets, costs, and operational expenses
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and lodge standards
- Handle guest queries and resolve complaints professionally
- Coordinate between departments to ensure seamless operations
- Drive service excellence and maintain lodge standards
Requirements
- RSA ID and legal residence essential
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- 5+ years in a senior management role in a lodge or luxury hospitality setting
- Sound knowledge of all lodge departments (F&B, Housekeeping, Front Office, Maintenance, etc.)
- Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control
- Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent guest service and communication skills
- Computer literate (MS Office, PMS & POS systems)
- Familiarity with lodge management systems (e.g. ResRequest, Semper, PANstrat)
- Fluent in English (Afrikaans or other local language an advantage)
