Job Title: Junior Bookkeeper Location: Durban North Employment Type: Full Time Job Summary: We are an accounting and auditing practice seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Bookkeeper with payroll experience to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping functions and payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities: Capture and maintain accurate financial records up to trial balance Process and reconcile bank statements, creditors, and debtors Process payroll, including salaries, wages, and statutory deductions Prepare and submit statutory returns (e.g., PAYE, UIF, SDL) Submit IRP5 reconciliations via Easyfile Maintain employee payroll records and resolve payroll queries General administrative and finance support duties Supervise cleaners and order office supplies Minimum Requirements: Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field 13 years bookkeeping experience Experience in payroll processing Knowledge of accounting and payroll software (Sage, Xero, and Pastel Payroll) Strong understanding of basic accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Good communication and organisational skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail
