About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AI developer to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating agents, automating processes, and integrating AI into business workflows using Microsoft Copilot and Power Automate (Power Platform). This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of renewal.
Key Responsibilities
- Create custom agents (formerly Power Virtual Agents) in Copilot Studio
- Configure topics, design dialogues, and manage conversational AI
- Design end-to-end automation in Power Automate (Cloud & Desktop Flows)
- Implement conditional logic and utilize AI Builder for document processing and data extraction
- Integrate Copilot with external systems using REST APIs
- Structure data for AI consumption
- Create specialized, repeatable workflows through “Claude Skills” and advanced prompting
- Build structured, reusable instruction files (.claude/skills/) that encode workflows and best practices
- Create clear, structured prompts (using XML tags, few-shot prompting, and system prompts) for consistent outputs
- Write helper scripts in Python or TypeScript to leverage Anthropic APIs
- Configure Claude to run code, use bash tools, or read files
Requirements
- AI Literacy: Understanding Large Language Models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), and how to apply them to business scenarios
- Software Development Basics: Proficiency in Git version control, Agile methodologies, and software debugging
- Data Handling: Skills in data cleaning, processing, and visualization to prepare data for AI consumption
- Azure Cloud Concepts: Knowledge of Azure AI Services and security, which often underpins Microsoft AI tools
- Machine Learning: Regression (linear logic), Decision Trees, Gradient Boosting, Clustering with K-Means
