This role is ideal for a commercially minded leader who enjoys working at the intersection of Finance, Operations, Data, and Technology. You will take ownership of billing processes, reporting, controls, collections strategies, system enhancements, and operational performance while partnering closely with Finance, IT, Projects, and Executive stakeholders. Duties: Lead and optimise end-to-end billing and collections operations. Analyse operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Reconcile and synchronise data across multiple operational and financial systems. Ensure accurate month-end billing and financial reporting processes. Drive process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, collections performance, and customer outcomes. Act as the business representative for billing-related IT projects, system enhancements, and development initiatives. Develop and maintain strong operational controls and governance frameworks. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and improve service delivery. Design and implement billing and collections strategies to improve revenue recovery. Present operational insights, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operational team. Job Experience & Skills Required: Qualifications: Matric (Grade 12) Relevant Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Commerce, Economics, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Billing Operations, Payments, Revenue Assurance, Collections, Finance Operations, or Financial Services Operations. Strong experience analysing operational and financial data. Proven experience leading operational process improvement initiatives. Experience working with billing systems, payment platforms, and financial reporting environments. Strong reporting and analytical capability, including advanced Excel and reporting tools such as SQL, QlikView, or Power BI. Financial Services, Insurance, Banking, or Payments industry experience highly advantageous. Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of operational and financial data. Highly process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset. Strong understanding of billing operations, collections, payments, and financial processes. Excellent reconciliation and financial controls capability. Commercially minded with strong business and operational acumen. Ability to identify operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Strong systems orientation with the ability to bridge the gap between Operations, Finance, and IT. Comfortable working with reporting and analytical tools such as SQL, QlikView, Power BI, or similar platforms. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong project and change management capability. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and governance focus. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of operational outcomes. Strong decision-making skills supported by data-driven insights.
