About the Role

The Head of Business Service Portfolio is a key leadership position responsible for driving IT Service Management (ITSM) strategy across multiple business service portfolios in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and manage cross-functional teams, drive business-IT alignment, and ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead IT Service Management (ITSM) strategy and execution across multiple business service portfolios
  • Oversee service portfolio management, ensuring prioritisation, governance, and value realisation of all technology-enabled initiatives
  • Manage and optimise IT services for business, ensuring stability, availability, and continuous improvement
  • Drive service delivery governance, ensuring delivery against scope, timelines, quality standards, and business outcomes
  • Strengthen business-IT alignment by acting as the key interface between business leadership and technology teams
  • Provide strong operational leadership across enterprise service delivery environments
  • Lead delivery through cross-functional teams, driving collaboration across IT, business, risk, compliance, and external partners
  • Oversee vendor and SLA management, ensuring accountability, performance, and service excellence
  • Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements
  • Drive service performance reporting, risk management, and continuous service improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or related field (NQF Level 7 or higher)
  • Proven experience in IT Services Management (non-negotiable)
  • Strong background with hands-on technician/technical experience
  • Programming experience or exposure
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT services for business units
  • Experience operating as a CIO support / second-in-command / senior IT leader
