Job Summary
Requirements Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Trade Certificate is Compulsory Vocational or technical certification in mechanical operations is an advantage. 3-5 years of experience in a FMCG environment Previous experience in a maintenance or mechanical fitting role is preferred. Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, machines, and equipment, troubleshooting faults and performing diagnostic tests to identify issues. Replace worn components, lubricate machinery, and replace oil, filters, and other consumables as needed. Install new equipment, machinery, and mechanical systems, and assemble components and sub-assemblies as required. Ensure equipment is properly aligned and calibrated to prevent wear, while adhering to safety protocols, industry regulations, and wearing appropriate PPE during repairs and installations. Conduct risk assessments on equipment to identify potential hazards and perform regular inspections of machinery to detect issues before breakdowns occur. Schedule and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections. Report on equipment performance, faults, and recommendations for improvements. Work closely with other departments such as production, engineering, and quality control to ensure smooth operation. Communicate effectively with management and team members regarding equipment status and repair needs. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
