About the Role

Our client is looking for a professional and well-organized Medical Secretary to oversee the daily operations of a busy medical practice and serve as the first point of contact for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practice Management: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the medical practice.
  • Diary & Appointments: Set up appointments and manage the practice diary effectively.
  • Front Desk Management: Manage the reception area and ensure professional patient interaction.
  • Medical Aid Administration: Liaise with medical aids, validate patients, submit and follow up on claims.
  • Payments & Debtors: Handle cash payments, manage debtors, and perform soft collections and payment follow-ups.
  • General Administration: Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, forms, and medical documentation.
  • Medical Records: Create patient files, sort and retrieve records from the filing room and electronic systems.
  • Stock Control: Manage stock control and ordering of medication and supplies.
  • Blood Specimen Handling: Handle and label blood specimens correctly and complete required request forms.
  • Office Support: Assist with maintaining a clean and organized office environment.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years experience working as secretary in a medical practice or medical setup
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong schedule coordination and diary management skills
