About the Role

One of South Africa’s premier sportsbook and gaming platforms is looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend C# Developer to play a key role in the evolution of its advanced betting and gaming solutions. Key Responsibilities

Designing and building scalable, high-performance backend services using C#
Developing and maintaining robust, secure APIs that support real-time betting and gaming platforms
Contributing to microservices-based architectures and event-driven systems
Collaborating closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions
Applying best practices in performance, reliability, and maintainability across all systems

Requirements

5+ years’ experience in backend software development
5+ years’ experience designing and developing APIs consumed by frontend applications
At least 3 years’ experience working within Agile/Scrum teams
5+ years’ experience working with SQL in production environments
5+ years’ experience applying DevOps practices, including CI/CD and deployment automation
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
Grade 12 (Matric) certificate required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Exposure to Apache Kafka or other event-streaming platforms
Experience working with microservices architectures
Working knowledge of Angular and/or react to support cross-functional collaboration
