About the Role

The Senior Credit Analyst role provides exposure to complex, high-value transactions, participation in senior credit and risk committees, and end-to-end ownership of a specialised portfolio within a leading CIB environment renowned for its robust governance frameworks, complex deal structuring, and large-scale transactions across the resources and project finance sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage credit risk for a defined CIB resources & project finance portfolio
  • Perform detailed credit risk assessments incorporating financial, industry, and macroeconomic analysis
  • Prepare and present high-quality credit applications and recommendations to relevant credit and risk committees
  • Manage the full credit lifecycle, including origination support, implementation, monitoring, and restructuring
  • Produce monthly portfolio risk MI and present portfolio insights to senior management
  • Monitor covenant compliance, security structures, and emerging risks, ensuring timely identification and escalation
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal business stakeholders and specialist partners

Requirements

  • Education (Minimum Requirements): Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a related discipline
  • Postgraduate qualification preferred (e.g. CA(SA), CFA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience within a CIB credit risk environment
  • Proven exposure to Mining, Project Finance, and/or Oil & Gas sectors
  • Strong experience across the full credit lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to credit committees and senior management
