Job Description

Surface Designer / Textile Artist to create original, luxury wallpaper designs for the residential interiors market. This is a specialist role requiring a strong foundation in hand-crafted pattern design, with the ability to translate physical artwork into production-ready digital files. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing unique design concepts, executing repeat patterns by hand, and preparing final artwork using Adobe Photoshop for print production. · Develop original wallpaper concepts aligned with luxury interior trends and brand direction. · Create hand-drawn or hand-painted motifs and pattern repeats. · Design seamless repeat patterns, including full-drop, half-drop, mirrored, and other repeat styles. · Translate physical artwork into high-resolution digital files through scanning and digital refinement. · Finalise designs in Adobe Photoshop, including colourways, scale, repeat accuracy, and print readiness. · Collaborate closely with the Creative Director on seasonal collections and creative briefs. · Research trends in interiors, textiles, and decorative arts to inform design direction. · Maintain a strong and consistent design aesthetic suited to high-end residential clients. · Proven experience in surface design, textile design, or wallpaper design. · Strong portfolio demonstrating: · Repeat pattern design – non-negotiable. · Hand-rendered artwork, not purely digital work. · Deep understanding of: · Pattern repeats, including half-drop, brick, full-drop, and mirrored repeats. · Scale and proportion. · Colour application for print. · Proficiency in: · Adobe Photoshop – essential. · Scanning and preparing artwork for print production. Strong drawing and/or painting ability, with traditional mediums preferred
