Job Description

The Warehouse Optimization Manager is responsible for improving warehouse efficiency by analyzing, designing, and implementing effective processes, systems, and workflows. This role focuses on driving operational excellence through structured procedures, strong control measures, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs and increasing productivity. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, systems-oriented, and experienced in warehouse operations, with a proven ability to streamline processes and implement practical, scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities Process Improvement & Workflow Optimisation Analyze current warehouse operations, workflows, and layouts to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. Design and implement improved processes to enhance productivity and throughput. Optimize material flow from receiving, sorting, storage, and dispatch. Introduce best practices to standardize operations across the warehouse. Systems Implementation & Enhancement Implement and improve warehouse management systems (WMS) and related operational tools. Develop structured tracking and reporting systems for inventory, movement, and productivity. Ensure data accuracy and system integration with other departments (e.g., finance, sales). Drive automation and digitalization initiatives where applicable. Controls & Compliance Establish and enforce strong operational control measures to minimize losses, errors, and fraud. Implement procedures for stock control, reconciliation, and reporting. Conduct audits and spot checks to ensure compliance with processes and standards. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines. Cost Reduction & Efficiency Identify cost-saving opportunities within warehouse operations, including labor, storage, and handling. Improve resource utilization, including workforce, equipment, and space. Monitor and report on cost efficiency and operational performance. Drive initiatives to reduce waste, rework, and inefficiencies. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse operations. Prepare reports on productivity, efficiency, accuracy, and cost metrics. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management. Training & Change Management Train warehouse staff and supervisors on new systems, processes, and procedures. Drive adoption of best practices and continuous improvement culture. Support operational teams during implementation and transition phases. Qualifications Bachelors degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred) Relevant certifications in supply chain or process improvement (advantageous) Experience & Skills 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or process improvement roles Proven experience in process optimization and systems implementation Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) Strong understanding of inventory control and operational workflows Ability to manage projects and implement change effectively
