About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Enrolled Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality care to patients in their homes or facilities. As an Enrolled Nurse, you will work closely with patients who require specialized care, including adults and children with tracheostomies connected to ventilators, elderly patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s care, quadriplegic patients with PEG Tubes, palliative patients in end-of-life care. You will be responsible for providing basic care, assisting with personal hygiene, administering medications under supervision, and monitoring vital signs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic care to patients, including washing, dressing, grooming, feeding, support with moving, toileting
- Administer medications under supervision of registered nurse or family member
- Monitor vitals of patients and record changes in condition
- Perform basic wound care
- Manage feeds of a tracheostomy baby using a feeding pump
- Observe change in condition of patients and record in daily report
- Write reports in good English
Requirements
- Strong understanding of treatment plans set out by other team members (doctor, NSM, physiotherapist)
- Good communication skills with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and family members
- Knowledge of dealing with emergency situations with a patient in their home
- Knowledge of Geriatric Care, Paediatric Care, Dementia Care, Post Stroke Care, Ventilation Care
- Good knowledge of Catheter care (indwelling, supra pubic, intermittent)
- Good knowledge of prevention of pressure sores in a bedridden patient
- Good knowledge of trachea care or experience working with tracheostomy patients
Qualifications
- Diploma as a qualified Enrolled Nurse
- First Aid Certificate will be an advantage
