About the Role
Our client, a mining Rewash Bay in the Komatipoort area, is seeking a Plant Foreman to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and systematic production of coal in the processing plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the plant is adequately capacitated with resources to meet daily production targets
- Routinely monitor the quality of processed coal to ensure it meets required specifications
- Provide processing (risks, issues and general) feedback to the shift staff, including reporting from previous shifts
- Develop daily working plan (i.e. material to be washed, expected densities and qualities) and ensure shift staff execute efficiently
- Attend goal alignment meeting with the plant manager (previous shift issues, discuss potential plant, troubleshoot breakdown root causes, track plant throughput and draft revised action plans to reach targets)
- Escalate issues that cannot be resolved in processing to the engineering team
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement plans to increase plant efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Continuously track performance of the plant by running thorough inspections to ensure the plant runs efficiently
- Ensure the team meets the plants daily production targets & consumables target
- Ensure all consumables utilised are per allocations and there is adequate supply of (magnetite and flocculants)
- Plan maintenance schedule for processing (including plant shutdown periods)
Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
- Coal Prep certificate
- Valid Drivers License
