We are seeking a Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant to join our client’s dynamic retail pharmacy team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care and exceptional service. The position is based in the Midstream area. Key responsibilities (not to be treated as an exhaustive list):- Support the Pharmacist with day-to-day dispensary operations in line with SOPs and regulatory requirements. Accurately interpret and process prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards. Dispense medication, including Schedule 1 and non-scheduled medicines, within scope of practice. Assist customers with medication queries, usage instructions, and medical aid claims. Handle script administration, including resolving rejected claims and maintaining accurate patient profiles. Support stock management, including ordering, merchandising, and reporting discrepancies. Assist with compounding, repacking, and preparation of non-sterile medicines. Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and confidentiality. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and contribute to a positive team environment. Minimum requirements:- Grade 12 (Mathematics and Science advantageous). Registered Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification with SAPC. Minimum 5 years experience in a retail pharmacy environment. Strong knowledge of dispensing processes and medical aid procedures. Proficient in pharmacy systems (e.g. UNISOLV ) and Microsoft Office. Own reliable transport. Key skills and attributes:- Excellent customer service and communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving and time management abilities. Integrity, reliability, and professionalism. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Team player with a proactive and positive attitude. Fluent in English and at least one additional official language.
