About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Milnerton, who will be responsible for providing high-quality financial management and support to our business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and experience working with various accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, financial reports, journals, accruals, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements
  • Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including supplier and customer account maintenance and payment processing
  • Performing bank, cashbook, supplier, debtor, and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and processing accounting adjustments and journal entries
  • Ensuring compliance with VAT, tax, statutory requirements, internal controls, and supporting external audit processes
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, financial analysis, and variance reporting
  • Identifying and resolving financial discrepancies while contributing to process improvements and reporting efficiency
  • Utilising accounting and ERP systems effectively and maintaining accurate financial data and records
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to support financial planning, reporting, and overall business objectives

Requirements

  • Minimum BCom Degree in Financial Accounting from a recognised university
  • 35 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in a full-function accounting or financial accounting role
  • Exposure to month-end and year-end financial processes
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with accounting and ERP systems such as Sage Pastel, Sage Evolution, SAP, Xero, or QuickBooks
