About the Role
We are partnering with a world-class safari lodge situated within the Kruger National Park to recruit an experienced and passionate Assistant Lodge Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is driven by excellence, passionate about delivering memorable guest experiences, and thrives in a remote, wildlife-rich environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lodge Manager in all operational aspects of the lodge
- Ensure that both service and presentation standards are always upheld to the highest level
- Oversight of guest relations, housekeeping, maintenance, and gardening standards
- Financial administration including stock control and ordering
- Manage and mentor lodge staff
- Maintain the guest database
- Ensure the seamless day-to-day running of concierge and reception functions
- Uphold the integrity of the lodge’s design and style across all areas
- Support the property’s conservation ethos
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a five-star hotel or world-class lodge, including at least 2 years in a management role
- Exceptional Food and Beverage knowledge with awareness of dietaries and allergens
- High standards of service excellence and a genuine passion for the hospitality industry
- Strong financial management ability, including stock control and administration of orders
- Excellent management, communication, and staff development skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet applications
- Excellent English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Assertive, patient, organised, calm under pressure, and solution-oriented
- Clear understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures
- Stable employment history and contactable references
