TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Management Accountant within the Timber division at Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. Job Summary This role involves supporting the financial management and strategic planning of the Forestry department through detailed financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The successful candidate will provide financial insights to support decision-making, drive cost management initiatives, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to long-term business performance. Responsibilities and Duties Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies in financial data Develop and implement financial models for budgeting and forecasting purposes Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets aligned to organisational goals Provide financial forecasts and projections based on historical data, market trends, and business objectives Collaborate with department heads to gather budget requirements and operational insights Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to cost management Implement and track cost control measures and their effectiveness Support the development of financial strategies to achieve business objectives Provide recommendations on the financial impact of strategic initiatives Participate in long-term financial planning and scenario analysis Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards Assist with the implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies Compile comprehensive management reports, including performance metrics and variance analysis Design and maintain reporting templates to improve clarity and decision-making Perform detailed variance analysis comparing actual performance against budgeted figures Prepare narrative explanations and visual reporting on variance findings Recommend corrective actions and process improvements based on variance outcomes Lead financial close processes and ensure accurate reconciliation of financial data Coordinate with accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance Prepare closing entries and audit documentation Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support Communicate financial information and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team Qualifications and Skills Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Professional certification such as CIMA or CA(SA) (advantageous) Minimum 57 years experience in management accounting Minimum 35 years experience within forestry and/or agricultural activities Extensive knowledge of management accounting principles and practices Understanding of the timber industry and related financial dynamics Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, AS400, Excel, Power BI, or similar accounting software and tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Strategic thinking and ability to influence decision-making Valid drivers license (Code 08) Bilingual in English and Afrikaans (advantageous) Willing to travel for work (including neighbouring countries) Take the next step in your career with TWK Agri, a trusted leader in agriculture and beyond. *The company can expire job adverts at any time at their own discretion.
