North Johannesburg: Junior Conveyancing Secretary

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Conveyancing Secretary to join our team in North Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a conveyancing environment and a basic understanding of property transfer processes. As a junior-level role, you will be expected to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines while developing your skills within the conveyancing field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing deeds and documentation for lodgement
  • Handling correspondent lodgements at the Pretoria Deeds Office
  • Assisting with applications for rates clearance certificates
  • Assisting with SARS transfer duty applications
  • Supporting senior conveyancing secretaries with transfer matters
  • Communicating with municipalities, SARS, Deeds Office, and correspondent firms
  • Maintaining accurate filing, tracking, and record keeping of all matters
  • Running own transfer files from instruction to registration

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a conveyancing environment (junior level)
  • Basic understanding of property transfer processes
  • Knowledge of Deeds Office procedures (preferably Pretoria Deeds Office)
  • Experience with correspondent lodgements
  • Exposure to rates clearance and transfer duty processes
  • Familiarity with conveyancing systems such as GhostConvey, Korbitec, Lexis Convey or similar
  • Familiarity with Deeds Office lodgement and tracking processes
  • Exposure to SARS eFiling and municipal online systems for rates clearance applications

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
