About the Role
The Department of Interior Design and Décor at Potchefstroom Academy seeks an outstanding lecturer with a keen interest in teaching Interior Design to make an efficient and lasting impact on the academic and creative life of the Academy.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and learn support: Implement innovative teaching methods and materials to engage students and foster understanding and enthusiasm.
- Module development and delivery: Create and maintain virtual learning environments, deliver modules across levels, including new qualifications, while ensuring compliance with SAQA, CHE, and Academy standards.
- Digital learning and course updates: Continuously review and update course content.
- Practical and software instruction: Teach and assess practical skills, software proficiency, and theoretical knowledge at the Diploma level.
- Departmental and public engagement: Participate in professional meetings, contribute to departmental administration, and actively engage as a public intellectual.
Requirements
- Passion and industry expertise: Energy, commitment, and a deep understanding of design and décor practice.
- Communication skills: Proficiency in written, verbal, and academic English and Afrikaans, ensuring effective interaction.
- Teaching proficiency: Capability to teach software, theory, and practical applications across diverse design concept.
- Student development: Ability to monitor student performance, provide constructive feedback, and coach professionalism.
Qualifications
National Diploma / Degree obtained from an accredited Educational Institute. AutoCAD / Revit comprehensive knowledge required. Adobe suites proficiency would be adventitious. Previous involvement with educational training / assessment could be to the applicants advantage.
