Luxury Lodge based in the Serengeti; Tanzania is looking for an experience Lodge General Manager to work in conjunction with HODs to ensure that the property continues to create memorable experiences that will encourage guests to return time and again. The suitable candidate will be responsible for maximizing profitability, driving revenue, maintaining service standards ; and ensuring guest satisfaction . The role balances strategic business management with hands-on ; day-to-day oversight of staff and the guest experience. Duties: Staff recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, development and training, performance management, disciplinaries; Ensure the smooth running of all departments around guest needs and movements Assisting departments and management to remain in budget for the year. Ensuring positive guest feedback and being visible and accessible to guests Ensuring functionality and maintenance of buildings, equipment, furniture, grounds. Direct and coordinate all departments including the front office, food & beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, wellness or safari/game-drive teams to ensure seamless service. Handle property budgets, forecast revenues and expenses, track inventory, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize financial targets and profitability. Cultivate a welcoming environment, greet guests, handle feedback or complaints, and curate unique experiences (e.g., dining, excursions, local tours). Ensure the property complies with all local health, safety, labour laws, and licensing regulations. Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management At least 5-years experience in a management role within a 5* environment Strong Food & Beverage knowledge, and aware of trends in the industry Experience working across all departments of the hotel operation Fair knowledge of general maintenance Opera and Micros proficiency, as well as Word, Excel, Outlook Ability to handle pressure, with a sense of urgency Works well within team environment and leads by example Great communication and interpersonal skills Highly organised Approachable and caring in nature Firm and assertive with fair disposition Dedicated and driven individual who is ambitious Mature attitude to business Passionate about sustainability and the environment
