An established multinational organisation headquartered in Europe, with a significant footprint across Africa, is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Regional Controlling Manager to be based in Luanda, Angola.
This role is ideally suited to a South African finance professional with a strong work ethic and a passion for partnering with the business. We are looking for a well-rounded individual who is comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level and who thrives in a dynamic, project-driven environment.
Duties:
- Lead project controlling activities across multiple operations.
- Partner with business leaders to support commercial decision-making.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Monitor overhead costs and implement effective cost-control measures.
- Prepare and present meaningful management reporting and performance analysis.
- Support group reporting requirements and ensure financial accuracy.
- Identify risks, opportunities and initiatives to improve profitability.
- Provide financial insights that support operational excellence and business growth.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Accounting, or a related field.
- CTA, or Honours degree will be advantageous
- CA(SA), CIMA, CGMA
Experience:
- 8 – 10 years proven experience within FP&A, commercial finance or controlling environments.
- Strong exposure to: Project controlling, Business partnering, Budgeting and forecasting and Cost and overhead management.
- Ability to operate as a commercially focused finance business partner.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in Portuguese is essential.
- Experience within infrastructure, engineering, construction, telecommunications, energy or other project-based industries will be advantageous.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong FP&A, project controlling, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
- Experience in cost control, management reporting and business partnering.
- Sound understanding of IFRS and advanced Excel and ERP systems proficiency.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across a multinational environment.
- Results-driven, adaptable and able to navigate complexity.
- High levels of accountability, integrity and professionalism.
- Fluent in Portuguese, with strong English communication skills.
