About the Role
The Retail Shopping Centre Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the shopping centre, ensuring optimal trading conditions, sustainable income generation, and operational excellence. The role focuses on maximising revenue through effective leasing strategies, maintaining strong tenant relationships, and ensuring efficient management of building operations, service providers, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to on-site teams to ensure high performance and alignment with business objectives.
- Manage staff performance, training, and development.
- Drive a positive corporate culture aligned with company values.
- Ensure team effectiveness and accountability across all functions.
- Drive leasing performance and optimise tenant mix to ensure sustainable income growth.
- Negotiate lease agreements within approval frameworks and mandates.
- Prepare and submit deal motivations for approval.
- Liaise with brokers and prospective tenants.
- Ensure timely tenant onboarding and installations according to specifications.
- Monitor tenant performance and proactively manage renewals or replacements.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
- Valid Fidelity Fund Certificate (FFC) and compliance with PPRA requirements.
- 3-5 years experience in retail shopping centre or property management.
- Proven experience managing daily operations, leasing, and tenant relations within a retail environment.
