About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Support Engineer to join our team in Paarl, Cape Town. As a key member of our IT Managed Services team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to users and troubleshooting problems related to hardware, software, network systems, VMWare environment, 365 Administration, servers, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Azure as well as Hyper-V.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues reported by users.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems.
- Responding to technical support inquiries in a timely manner.
- Providing technical assistance and training to users as needed.
- Documenting technical support activities and maintaining records.
- Collaborating with other IT staff to ensure the smooth operation of systems.
- Performing system upgrades and improvements as needed.
- Upholding security standards across our network infrastructure.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of computer systems and an aptitude for problem-solving and teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Experience with network systems, VMWare environment, 365 Administration, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Azure as well as Hyper-V.
Qualifications
- Own vehicle required for onsite visits.
- Degree / Diploma in Information Technology or related field.
- Relevant vendor and industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, VMware).
- Strong understanding of computer systems and networks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: R30 000 – R35 000 CTC.
