About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Breakfast Head Chef to join our award-winning hotel restaurant in Franschhoek. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily breakfast service, leading by example, and driving innovation in menu planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the breakfast service team, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless operations
  • Develop and implement innovative, trend-setting menu concepts that showcase exceptional a la carte & fine dining skills
  • Manage food costing, stock controls, and waste management to optimize efficiency and minimize waste
  • Foster a culture of excellence through staff development, administration, systems, and communication
  • Collaborate with the restaurant team to ensure exceptional customer service and experience

Requirements

  • Strong leadership, management & staff development skills
  • Excellent a la carte & fine dining skills
  • Innovative, creative & trend-setting menu planning
  • Hands-on operator who leads by example
  • Excellent administration, systems & communication skills
  • Strengths in food costing, stock controls and waste management

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
