About the Role
As a Production Engineer in our Pietermaritzburg facility, you will play a critical role in planning, managing, and optimising daily precast production activities to maximise output, efficiency, and programme compliance. You will be responsible for analysing production performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing engineering-led process improvements to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and optimise daily precast production activities to maximise output, efficiency, and programme compliance
- Analyse production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement engineering-led process improvements
- Enforce QA/QC compliance through monitoring and testing in line with SANS, SANRAL, and internal standards
- Coordinate closely with design, maintenance, logistics, and management teams to ensure uninterrupted production flow
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including tooling, mould optimisation, cost reduction, and resource efficiency
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and operational standards across all production activities
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in a production or manufacturing engineering environment
- Exposure to precast concrete, construction materials, or heavy manufacturing advantageous
- Strong understanding of production planning, process optimisation, and quality systems
- Practical, hands-on engineering mindset with strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and drive continuous improvement
