About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our accounts department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing accurate financial reports to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly/yearly statutory payments such as workmen’s compensation, seta training etc.
- Prepare tax returns, compute taxes owed, and ensure compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, budgets, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or provide advice
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems using current computer technology
- Manage creditors and debtors accounts, including processing and reconciliation of accounts
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, ensuring trial balance accuracy and completion of statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and Workmen’s Comp)
- Utilize Pastel software to manage accounts, prepare financial reports, and perform other accounting functions
Requirements
- Extensive experience with running the books of a medium-sized factory
- Capability in meeting deadlines for monthly management accounts, trial balances, etc.
- Proficiency in Pastel/ Sage Evolution Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements
- Analytical skills to analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, budgets, and obligations
- Good problem-solving skills to address accounting discrepancies and errors
- Experience with banking and stock management
- E-filing experience for processing and reconciling PAYE returns
Qualifications
- Formal qualifications in Accounting or related field (must be stated)
- Extensive experience on Pastel Partner (accounting)
