About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager/Senior Accountant to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day management of our accounts department, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file monthly management accounts, trial balances, and other financial reports using Pastel/Sage Evolution.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, including compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, budgets, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or provide advice.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems using current computer technology.
- Manage monthly/yearly statutory payments such as workers’ compensation, SETA training, etc.
- Process and reconcile creditors and debtors accounts.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Pastel Partner (accounting) software.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Full bookkeeping experience capturing to Trial balance (at least).
- Completion of statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and Workers’ Compensation).
- VAT knowledge, experience in reconciliation, and problem-solving.
- E-filing experience for processing and reconciliations of creditors and debtors accounts.
Qualifications
- Formal qualifications are a must for this role.
