About the Role
Our client, a newly established business in the hydraulic industry, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Bookkeeper to manage the full financial function of the company. This role is well suited to a candidate who is comfortable working in a start-up environment and contributing to the development of financial systems and processes from inception. The company operates within the hydraulic sector, supplying high-quality hydraulic components and solutions to a diverse client base. The business is focused on technical excellence, reliability, and building long-term client relationships within industrial and commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full Debtors and Creditors function
- Perform daily bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly cash flow reporting
- Execute accounting functions up to trial balance
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial year-end statements
- Assist auditors during annual audits
- Conduct costing and cost calculations
- Liaise with shipping agents regarding imports
- Prepare and process daily and monthly payments
- Process foreign payments
- Manage full payroll function (salaries and commissions)
- Submit SARS reports (EMP201, VAT, EMP501) on a monthly and annual basis
- Work on SARS eFiling
- Ensure internal contra accounts balance once branches are operational
- Administer Compensation Fund
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 5 years relevant bookkeeping experience
- Proven experience with Sage Accounting VIP Classic Payroll
- Strong computer literacy
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the finance function
Salary & Benefits
- R30 000 (depending on experience)
