About the Role
We’re currently looking for a highly motivated and talented Resident Engineer to join our client in Pretoria. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for managing technical aspects on sites, liaising with designers and contractors, and ensuring the quality of works.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as Resident Engineer.
- Managing technical aspects on sites, such as erection engineering aspects, geometric control in the erection of piers and decks, technical road works aspects, etc.
- Liaison with designers regarding site engineering queries when necessary.
- Evaluation and approval of method statements.
- Liaison with the Contractor regarding technical aspects.
- Managing some resources for site supervision of technical aspects.
- Application of the Firms Quality Management System.
- Monitoring of quality of works, including supervision of production processes and any off-site and/or remote construction and/or assembly facilities.
- Monitoring of programme and contract budgets from a technical perspective.
- Quantities and payment certificates.
- Preparation of variation orders.
- Closing out the project including compiling completion/close-out reports.
Requirements
- B. Engineering Degree/ BTech.
- 3 to 8 years of structural design and/or supervision experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (or soon to be registered) with the Engineering Council of South Africa or equivalent internationally recognized registration and/or legally required qualification will be advantageous.
