Job Description
- Knowledge of Ruckus, Cambium, or comparable managed WiFi hardware
- Knowledge of informal trade settings and township companies
- Knowledge of Sesotho, Setswana, or isiZulu.
- Work experience in networking, IT support, telecom installation, or technical fields
- Capable of configuring and debugging network hardware, such as LTE devices, routers, and access points
- Able to read signal data and basic network diagnostics
- Excellent communication abilities and self-assurance while interacting with local company owners
- Proficiency in isiZulu, Sesotho, or Setswana
Duties:
- Install, set up, and commission WiFi equipment in both new and old locations.
- Conduct reactive and planned hardware health inspections throughout the network.
- Identify and fix hardware, setup, and connectivity problems on the spot.
- Update firmware, replace malfunctioning equipment, and carry out regular maintenance.
- Record and update site data, such as SIM information, hardware condition, and equipment setup.
- Build rapport with venue owners and respond to on-site program inquiries.
- With good technical documentation, escalate complicated hardware or network problems to the NOC team.
- Assist installation contractors with the commissioning and onboarding of new locations.
