About the Role

The Principal Analyst role at our organisation involves performing routine laboratory tests and analyses on samples, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards, and maintaining a safe and organised laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses on samples in accordance with established procedures and standards.
• Prepare samples, reagents, and laboratory equipment for analysis.
• Record and report test results accurately in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and/or laboratory logbooks.
• Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards, procedures, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the laboratory.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organisation of the laboratory work area.
• Assist with sample collection, labelling, and storage where required.
• Report abnormal results, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.

Requirements

• Grade 12 with Mathematics or N3 Technical Mathematics.
• Physical Science is advantageous.

Qualifications

• A National Diploma in Chemistry or related field will be an added advantage.
