About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Production Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all operational processes and procedures are strictly followed, while also identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all operational processes and procedures are strictly followed
  • Identify the exact quality and specification of the commodity purchased
  • Maintain good customer relations and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Reject nonmetallic items and inferior quality metals
  • Ensure records are updated and reconciled accurately for all items purchased and dispatched
  • Lead and supervise a team to achieve operational and goal-oriented requirements
  • Ensure that assistants thoroughly inspect scrap to be purchased and display all metals openly for photographing
  • Comply with the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act when buying scrap

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory position
  • A minimum of at least 5 years’ experience in a production industry
  • Computer literate – full Microsoft suite
  • Conversant with the Second-hand Goods Act
  • Good knowledge of H&S regulations
  • Scrap metal experience will be an advantage

Qualifications

  • Completed Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory position
  • 5 years’ experience in a production industry
  • Certification in First Aid or Safety Management (optional)
