Senior Civil Engineer Reporting to: Engineering Manager Seniority Level: Professional Type: Contractor Duties and Responsibilities: Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities Business Results: Understand ECSA’s code of conduct Define, technically justify, motivate and drive optimal plant improvement initiatives through technical investigations via the asset maintenance management practice Understand and apply the standards and descriptors of Operations Standards Framework pertaining to Setting of civil standards, and Maintenance Management Develop maintenance strategies related to civil structures Develop renewal roadmap to ensure long term sustainability of civil structures Recommend additional monitoring and analyses beyond the typical company and industry practices Identify, and take the lead on Civil Eng. studies Identify the need for Civil Eng. projects Complete the proj obj and dev project charters Provide inputs into civil eng position papers Collaborate to compile cost-estimation Specify the req for civil eng drawings Compile the eng scope of work and ensure it translates into cost estimates for various phases of a civil engineering projects. Monitor and manage project budget, and cashflow Provide technical assistance to the client during the construction phase Assure that the designs are carried out as intended and all on-site issues are addressed Ensure QA/QC and oversight of construction managers, contractors, consultants, engineers, and technicians inputs and outputs Ensure due diligence, throughout various stages/phases of the project lifecycle preliminary layout and up to the final engineering design Ensure that all safety and regulatory issues have been addressed and resolved Adhere to the best practices, standards, and procedures of the company Supervise and peer reviewing the work of other engineers Identify civil eng deviation, threats, risks, and opportunities through monitoring Analyze deviations, understand the cause of the deviation and eliminate/manage/control re-occurrence Ensure quality of technical proposals and ensure applicable technical gov has been applied through formal peer review process Review civil eng design drawings for completeness, accuracy and to ensure that it satisfies the intended scope of work Develop Civil Eng design specifications Leadership and Values: Interpret and translate bus req into an electrical engineering strategy to enable OME to safely meet production targets Translate OME project team strategy into team working model Manage and develop people in the team Facilitate knowledge sharing and innovation Ensure personal dev plans are completed, implemented and tracked within applicable career path Notify/inform of changes in resourcing needs Be responsible for own as well as team’s perf management system Report on budget utilization, forecasting and changes Ensure teams safety objectives and req training is completed.
