Kendrick Recruitment is currently recruiting a meticulous and highly organised Accountant to join the finance team a Luxury Lodge. Reporting directly to the Financial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the highest standards of corporate governance within a premier safari environment. This is a key role suited to a finance professional who pairs strong technical accounting skills with a disciplined approach to internal controls. The position requires an individual who thrives under pressure and understands that confidentiality and attention to detail are paramount in a luxury hospitality setting. THE POSITION OVERVIEW Role: Accountant Location: Kruger National Park Reporting to: Financial Manager Remuneration: Competitive & Negotiable (DOE) RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Operations: Manage all day-to-day finance functions, including accurate daily capturing, administration, and a comprehensive oversight of both Debtors and Creditors. Cash Management & Reconciliations: Take responsibility for the capturing and reconciling of cash books and the meticulous reconciliation of general ledger accounts to ensure financial integrity. Stock & Inventory Control: Oversee monthly and weekly stock and inventory processes, ensuring rigorous control systems are maintained across the property. Financial Reporting: Maintain a solid understanding of Financial Statements to support the Financial Manager in month-end processes and reporting requirements. Governance & Compliance: Place a strong emphasis on corporate governance and the implementation of robust internal controls to align with lodge and group standards. REQUIREMENTS Experience: At least 4 years’ established experience as an Accountant or in a similar senior finance role, ideally within a hospitality environment. Education: A Matric/Grade 12 certificate and a relevant Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a similar major. Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with SAGE Cloud accounting; a functional understanding of Apex and Pluspoint systems is highly advantageous. Core Competencies: Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities with a proven track record of performing accurately under pressure.
