About the Role
As an Assistant Head Chef at our esteemed hotel, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen department and ensuring seamless operations during their absence. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and take on additional responsibilities, including training the sous chef and contributing to menu planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in running the kitchen department
- Run the kitchen department in its entirety while the Head Chef is away
- Train the sous chef in new ideas for preparing 5* standard meals
- Develop and implement fresh, new menu ideas
- Utilize computer skills for kitchen admin and lodge system management
- Produce high-quality meals that meet 5* standards for lodge guests
- Plan menus for staff meals
- Place orders and procure food supplies for the lodge
- Maintain excellent communication with team members and lodge suppliers
- Ensure the highest standards of quality in plating and dining experiences
Requirements
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of 5* standard meal preparation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Proficient in computer skills for kitchen admin and lodge system management
- Experience with staff training, stock taking, ordering, and quality control
