About the Role
We are seeking 8 experienced Bulk Vessel (BV) Operators to join our team in South Africa, with a focus on Angola operations. As a BV Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our process plant. You will be responsible for monitoring equipment and processes, taking corrective actions when necessary, and working closely with maintenance staff to maintain a safe and optimal operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a designated section of the process plant safely, responsibly, and according to documented procedures and within control bounds at all times.
- Monitor process plant equipment to ensure it is operating at optimal levels and detect any possible problems.
- Monitor process indicators, instruments, gauges, and meters to report any issues or discrepancies.
- Monitor water levels and conveyor belts to prevent operational disruptions.
- Take corrective actions when the process is not operating optimally.
- Work with maintenance staff to ensure the plant is safe and operating according to COPs and SOPs.
- Take responsibility for a designated section of the process plant for the duration of each rostered shift.
- Prepare a log for the next shift at the end of every rostered shift.
- Complete log sheets as required.
- Perform pre-shift checks as per procedure and report defects.
- Report any safety, environmental, and production incidents to relevant personnel.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in bulk vessel operation (mining industry)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- Formal education or equivalent experience in a related field is an asset
