About the Role

Our client, a trusted name in the short-term insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to oversee the full claims lifecycle and ensure fair and timely resolution of both personal and commercial claims. The successful candidate will lead a team, manage complex cases, and maintain audit and regulatory readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end claims process for personal and commercial lines
• Assess, approve, and oversee complex, high-value, and escalated claims
• Lead and support the claims team to meet service and compliance standards
• Plan operational capacity and manage workloads across the department
• Ensure strict compliance with regulatory and governance requirements
• Maintain accurate claims records and ensure audit readiness
• Develop and implement claims policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Oversee complaints, disputes, and escalations, including Ombud referrals (OSTI)
• Monitor claims turnaround times and service level agreements
• Collaborate with underwriting and finance teams to ensure cohesive operations
• Generate reports on claims activity, trends, and performance metrics
• Ensure a client-centric approach throughout the claims process

Requirements – Non Negotiable

• Matric qualification
• NQF Level 4 Short Term Insurance
• RE5 certification
• FAIS compliant
• Minimum 5 years proven experience in short-term insurance claims and management
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
