About the Role
We are seeking a Coding, AI & Machine Learning Assistant Instructor to support our lead instructor in delivering technology education to high school learners from Grade 8 through Grade 12. This role is ideal for an early-career developer, a bootcamp graduate, or a tech-savvy individual who wants to build teaching experience while working in a fast-paced, technical classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead instructor in setting up the development environment and equipment before each session
- Support learners individually or in small groups helping them debug code, understand concepts, and complete exercises
- Circulate the classroom to identify learners who are stuck and provide immediate, constructive help
- Help maintain focus and engagement in a technical classroom
- Assist with updating learner progress notes and attendance records
- Help pack away and secure all equipment safely after each class
- Step in to lead the class if the lead instructor is temporarily unavailable
- Assist with preparing coding exercises or lesson materials as directed
Requirements
- Matric Certificate (minimum)
- Certificate, Diploma, or partial Degree in IT or Software Development (advantageous)
- Practical experience writing Python code – through self-study, bootcamp, or online courses
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
- Familiarity with AI or Machine Learning concepts at a foundational level
Salary & Benefits
R5,000 – R10,000 per month based on experience and hours
