About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Journey Specialist to join our luxury inbound DMC team in Cape Town, where you will be responsible for managing and completing booking confirmations with accuracy and financial health. As a key member of our team, you will build strong relationships with Travel Designers and Operations Specialists, delivering exceptional service and fostering partnerships that drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with the Reservations Manager on booking issues
- Manage all changes and add developments to bookings to ensure perfect client trips
- Build relationships with operations specialists based on trust and support
- Attend ad hoc familiarisation trips as required
- Ensure all relevant systems are updated
- Handle Accommodation, transfer & touring bookings
- Verify that all booking details pull through accurately once confirmation emails are received (flight details, times, hotels, guides)
- Provide relevant paperwork for guides ahead of time (guide itinerary, guide budget sheet, feedback forms and vouchers etc.)
- Handle queries from Agents and Direct clients on various matters
- Maintain booking files including agent correspondence, AP correspondence, costings, invoices & credit notes
Requirements
- Matric certificate
- Tertiary certificate in Travel & Tourism/hospitality is advantageous
- 2 years’ experience in handling customer relationships and developing & promoting product and building journeys in the inbound travel industry
- In depth knowledge of South Africa, specifically Cape Town, Garden Route & Safari Destinations and Southern Africa
- Personal or educational travel experience in the above areas advantageous
- Computer Literate (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word)
- Proven English literacy
- Working knowledge of TourPlan and WETU or similar booking/operating system
