About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Control (QC) Technician to join our team in Paarl/Wellington. As a key member of our quality management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality across our production facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of the production facility and report any non-compliance or deviations identified.
- Carry out routine hygiene audits across the plant and ensure corrective measures are implemented where required.
- Communicate effectively with teams across the facility regarding quality and food safety matters.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable food safety standards and audit requirements, taking accountability for quality assurance and legislative compliance of all products manufactured on site.
- Log and manage non-conformances, including internal findings and customer complaints, relating to system deviations or potential product safety risks.
- Investigate root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee and track the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process to ensure timely closure.
- Ensure all manufactured products consistently meet defined specifications and customer expectations.
- Confirm that all staff adhere to company procedures, operational practices, and hygiene requirements.
- Verify that warehousing activities comply with approved storage and handling conditions.
- Confirm completion and accuracy of all quality-related checks and records.
- Investigate quality deviations and implement appropriate corrective and preventative measures.
- Validate in-line quality control checks to maintain required product standards.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on quality requirements and best practices.
Requirements
- Qualification in Quality Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a QC or QA role.
- Food and beverage industry experience.
- Own reliable transport.
- Completed internal auditing training or certification.
