About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter & Welder to join our team in Stellenbosch, working in the pest control industry. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing a range of tasks that require technical expertise and manual dexterity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding, fabrication, and repair work on equipment, structures, and vehicles.
- Maintain and repair pest control application equipment (sprayers, tanks, rigs, and related systems).
- Carry out mechanical fitting, assembly, and installation tasks.
- Diagnose faults and perform preventative maintenance on mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and equipment specifications.
- Ensure all equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with operational standards.
- Assist with workshop and field maintenance work when required.
- Support installation or modification of pest control systems on vehicles or facilities.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company standards at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a welder, fitter, or mechanical technician.
- Trade qualification in welding, fitting, or related mechanical field (advantageous).
- Experience with MIG, TIG, or arc welding.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Valid drivers licence.
- Physically fit and able to work in workshop and field environments.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
