About the Role

A leading engineering and construction company is seeking an experienced Document Controller to join their team in Maitland, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project documentation, maintaining accurate information registers, and supporting project teams with technical documentation and submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, save, and manage project documents, drawings, and correspondence
  • Maintain and update project information registers and filing systems
  • Ensure project folders are accurately organised and maintained according to company standards
  • Notify project teams of updated or newly received documentation
  • Compile and source technical product data sheets for project teams
  • Assist with material approval submissions alongside Contracts Managers
  • Compile project handover documentation and certificates
  • Maintain accurate document control processes across multiple projects

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the construction, engineering, or project-based industry is essential
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, MS Projects, Adobe Acrobat, and/or BlueBeam software
  • Experience with Buildsmart software is highly advantageous
  • Experience with Candy, AutoCAD, and/or BIM 360 will be beneficial
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and email correspondence skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment
